I never cease to be amazed at how biblical illiterates insist on
telling us what the Bible says about this and that when they have
obviously never opened a Bible, let alone read it. Read objectively,
nudity is not prohibited. In fact, one can find many examples of
nudity, both stated and implied.
Gen 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not
ashamed.
1 Sam 19:24 And he (Saul) stripped off his clothes also, and
prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that
day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the
prophets?
The last sentence is telling. Obviously nudity was well known among
the prophets, else why would the naked Saul be thought to be a
prophet? Isaiah was one of them who went unclothed.
Isaiah 20:2 At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of
Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put
off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
3 And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and
barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon
Ethiopia;
There are many verses dealing with nudity/nakedness. None of them have
anything to say about innocent social nudity.
God is not impressed by clothing. In fact, God should be offended that
man tells Him that His greatest creation is obscene and "evil".
Very well said, and I agree with you totally. However, how would you account for these verses that the fundamentalist Christians like to throw at us which connotates the word naked with negativity:telling us what the Bible says about this and that when they have
obviously never opened a Bible, let alone read it. Read objectively,
