Post by AnnaLupin Lodge continues to support at least two (that we know of)
BDSM groups using their property for their activity.
Do they "support" BDSM groups, or merely rent to them?
If the former, so what?
If the latter, so what?
When I was a kid, my mother took me to a large, publicly owned stadium
to see various shows. One of them had some rather rauchy lead-in
performances followed by some Elvis-like dork doing a REALLY rauchy
act while singing badly. A few weeks later, I was treated to a quite
similar sequence of lead-in acts culminating with Billy Graham doing
his equally bizarre come-to-Jesus performance.
Mom most definitely was NOT a fan of either headliner, but thought I
ought to be aware of such stuff and preferred that my initial exposure
be with her. In both cases, she analyzed what we saw as it was
happening via a sotto-voce running commentary.
A year or so later, she got us Row Two seats at a boxing match in
which some highly ranked guy from Hoboken beat the local hero damn
near to death -- therebye getting us both sprayed with blood and gore
and giving me a very close-up view of the damage done. THUD. SQUIRT.
1. Was the stadium commission that rented to the rauncy Elvis-like
show "supporting" the goings-on?
Yes, yes they were. They were saying that they saw such as being within
the scope of acceptability
Post by Jenny6833A2. Was the stadium commission that rented to the bizarre Billy Graham
show "supporting" those goings-on?
Yes, yes they were
Post by Jenny6833A3. Was my Mom "supporting" either of them? Was she "supporting"
boxing and the "let them fight until one falls down" mentality of the
day?
Did she pay for a ticket for that Elvis thing? Did she walk out in
disgust after seeing it?
Post by Jenny6833A4. Or was I, in each case, getting a parentally supervised education?
Did she do this often? Did she go to places with you that she
"disapproved of" under the theory "well at least I am with them".
Did she take you to skid row and have you watch all the junkies stick
needles in their arms and watch the hoes do their tricks? Did she
have a friend at the police department who allowed you to sit in on
autopsies?
Did she have you come in and watch her have sex? After all, it's out
there. If you didn't see her do it you might see someone else.
Look, I somewhat understand the theory but like with everything else
it is a matter of degree and of course the whole thing about lines
which are different for each other but at the end is something we all
have. Sure there are stuff out there like wrestling matches or boxing
where you might not exactly approve of it but you know its out there
so you want to be the one to take them but even there would she have
taken you to a "battle to the death" boxing match. Sure they don't
exist (well in most the civilized world of course) but if they did. So
even there there are lines. But I have had the experience of going to
R rated movies and disapproving of seeing children there (children can
go to R rated movies if they have their parents there with them). The
worse case was when I went to Beowolf. What? They didn't want to
hire a baby sitter? Talk about trashy dysfunctional parents.
Look, what we are talking about here though is truth in advertising.
That is all I am asking for from Lupin Lodge, AANR and the Naturist
Society. Just be clear about what nudism is all about.
If it is about pushing sexuality to the edge, okay, then that is what
it is about. Be honest about it. Post these events on their web
site. Then when people go to the location they know what they are
getting into. Nudism tries to promote this whole "harmony with nature"
thing and by the way, that is what I am attracted to nudity for. For
many if not most nudism is simply about the feeling of not wearing any
clothes and it is indeed as you all say if sexualized at all it is
just on the most subtle of levels. But unfortunately while nude isn't
nude in and of itself it does seem to attract the lewd and at any
given time you have about at least 10-15 percent of the clubs
contaminated by the lewd.
The example you gave about the stadium well at least the two events
were separated by date and time. We have "Uncle Abdul" prowling
around Lupin every first weekend.
By the way did your mom ever take you to a strip club? I hope the
answer is no. I don't agree with exposing a kid to everything in the
world just because it exists. It exists but that doesn't mean one
will ever in their lives be exposed to it. Especially in America. I
guess you could go around exposing your child to cock fights and all
kinds of stuff "because it exists" but indeed it can screw a kid up
big time.
Post by Jenny6833APost by AnnaAnd you wonder why so many in the general public think that nudists
are a bunch of sexual sickos.
If we'd lived in the San Jose area, my Mom would have taken me to
Lupin too, on regular days and on rent-the-premises days. She'd have
reasoned that I needed to know about such stuff. She didn't believe
in sticking her own head in the sand -- or mine either.
She was not a fan of keeping kids ignorant. Nor am I.
